MOVERS PROM NIGHT 2012
The Movers Hold Real Love Is Hard Love Grand Prom Night
By: Dra. Jedidiah Ricaforte-Diente
The soft gentle music echoes through the air and the red carpet was laid down on the floor for the much awaited Movers’ Prom Valentine’s Presentation,” Real Love Is Hard Love”. The Movers, paved the way for an evening of fun and music last February 23, 2012 in the ambiance where love is popularly known – Paris! The venue, FARM church, was dominated with low-key lighting of sweet scented candles on each table and dressed with baby blue draping. It was a night indeed for the glamorous ladies with their coiffured hair and dressed in their gorgeous long gowns with their escorts in tuxedoes.
Everyone was greeted by the young band trainees as they entered the hall and took pictures for their souvenir. The Prom started with the Processional where the Movers, Senior Pastor Rey and Zeny Calusay, Berean students and guests made a graceful entree on the red carpet to the Eiffel Tower painted arch before gazing upon their seats. It was followed by candle lighting and a Prayer song “On My Knees” sang by Mae then “Steady My Heart” by Tata. Pastor Jireh Calusay warmly welcomed everyone afterwards. It was then a string of endless music for everyone as the songs Hold Me, Love Song and You Are For Me enthralled the audience before Pastor Rey delivered a dynamic and enlightening message about Real Love is Hard Love taken from Ephesians 5:22-33. Pastor Rey introduced God’s love and how we should build strong kind of love. He also elaborated about why love must be tough and that we should not experiment on it. It was encouraging to see the youth affirmatively respond to God’s advice and accept Christ’s love for them while the song I Promise is being sang. If heaven rejoices to see one soul saved, what more when they see a bountiful youth approaching God and asking Him to lead their lives? Praise God for that!
Dinner is then served while the FARM band played and sang Beauty’s Just A Word, Hope Now, I Wanna Know You, Unfailing Love and Pag-ibig.But it was far from over as the awards were given after the search. Bruce Bulacan and Jamaica Abad was hailed as Mr. and Ms. Heartstrings, respectively. Mr. and Ms. Soul Surrendered was garnered by Mark Darren Acuyong and Chenee Shamma Remon. As for the most desired award, Prom King was Robbie del Rosario and prom Queen was Lorna Marie Lim. Noteworthy also was the presence of some SK officials as special guests.
This momentous event was made into reality by God’s grace and by the cooperation of the Church Committees, HRM of Life Goal International, the Band and SK officials. The prom was also sponsored by Avon Plaridel Branch, Coca-Cola Bottlers Inc. Roxas City Branch, Gigz Store and friends both local and abroad. It was open for all youths.

MOVERS MINI CONCERT STRIKES
By: Jedidiah Ricaforte-Diente
Carefree pastel moving lights, drums beating, electric guitars screeching, husky strong voices and moving experience with God, took over the First Assembly Roxas Missions (FARM) last January 20, 2012 as the Movers, together with the Band, rock their hearts out as they dance and sing for the Lord during the free Mini-Concert.
The show started around 5:30 pm and lasted up to 7:30 pm to reach out for the youth of today and showed them how fun and exciting it is to have Christ in their lives.
After a light snack at the Welcome Lounge, Pastor Ben Judah Calusay started the flame with a “dance” and was heightened by the Movers’ theme song, “Move..Errs” that gave the cue to what was in store for 2 hours. As the new comers were surrounded by the Movers (the name given to the young people in FARM, high school and college students as well as out of school youth from ages 13-21), they were given an opportunity to appreciate God through the message of the songs Where I Belong, Hanging On By a Thread, and Believe.
In the middle of the concert, a heartwarming, informative video presentation entitled The Gospel Message was played. Afterward, Pastor Jireh Calusay enlightened the message of what they viewed, followed by the Sinner’s Prayer which every single audience participated in. Everyone was intent on praying. It was a scene of God’s miraculous victory for these youth. Subsequently, the bombastic yet meaningful song “He Loves Us” ensued which expressed such conviction of Jesus’ love for mankind.
For the Finale, the Street Sign Band led the crowd to sing Shine Like the Stars, that moved the audience to raise their arms in worship and eventually, ask for more. “The Band accommodated this event to communicate to the youth that life with Jesus is safe, fun and fulfilling.” Through God and by this concert, it was made possible.
MOVERS LIFE COACHES’ TRAINING
The Movers – FARM Youth Group got a new name for its counselors – `Life Coaches’. With the new name comes the need to have more defined descriptions of the work of one who is assigned to handle a group of young people in FARM. FARM senior pastors Rey and Zeny Calusay took upon themselves to start a training program for the life coaches. So far, two workshop sessions have already been conducted.

PREPARING THE STAGE FOR EFFECTIVE COACHING
Trust. You trust that each has potential that is not yet visible. How do you see the younger one today. How do you see him/her in the future.
Pick one younger person assigned to you:
How do you generally asses her/him toady:
What do you envision him/her to be 3 years from now?
Experience. Your experience is of great value to the younger ones. This is what you can offer as someone who has traveled a little
further in life.
Share an experience you can offer to your younger movers as a valuable source
of learning from you.
Availability – Nothing replaces time together in the moments that really count.
How much time are you willing to invest with your younger ones.
Competency. Its not being competent in all areas. Nobody is. It’s important that you mentor or coach in the areas of your gifts and strengths. This is not about perfection but the integrity of being good at what you do.
In a scale of 1-10, how do you rate your competency level now as a coach? ___
Heart. True concern and compassion for the person you coach is essential. Quality life changes come less through cold mechanics but more through warm human connection.
Are you more of a task person or a person oriented person?________________

LIFE COACH: WHAT DO YOU REALLY WANT TO DO?
DEFINITIONS
COACHING, with a professional coach, is the practice of supporting an individual, referred to as a coachee or client, through the
process of achieving a specific personal or professional result. The structure and methodologies of coaching are numerous but are predominantly facilitating in style; that is to say that the coach mainly asks questions and challenges the coachee. Coaching is differentiated from therapeutic and counselling disciplines.
LIFE COACHING is a practice that helps people identify and achieve personal goals. Life coaches help clients set and reach goals using a variety of tools and techniques. Life coaches are not therapists nor consultants; psychological intervention and business analysis are outside the scope of their work.
BIBLICAL COUNSELING (also known as nouthetic counseling from the Greek word noutheteo (“to admonish or warn.”) is a form of Christian counseling that aims to use devotional instructions in the Bible to treat psychological problems. It treats psychological problems as spiritual problems, which it teaches can be solved by devotion to Christ.
DISCIPLE
A disciple is a convinced adherent of a school or individual.
A disciple is a follower and student of a certain mentor, teacher. Following the teacher’s teachings as a way of life is the active side of being a disciple.
DISCIPLESHIP
Discipleship is the process of developing people into true disciples.
For discipleship to be effective, it must be:
1. Systematic - provides orderly steps through people grow deeper in their commitment in following Christ.
2. Intentional – designs carefully selected curriculum materials, activities and programs that are fit for each stage of the displeship journey.
THREE DIMENSIONS OF DISCIPLESHIP
Dimension – the visible and measurable aspects
1. Biblical instruction: Progress through the Word. The disciple’s walk is founded in the Word of God and his spiritual life nourished by the Word of God.
2. Life relationships; Progress through relationships. Firstly, a growing relationship with God through prayer and communion. Secondly, a growing relationship with other believers. The ways of a true disciple are best developed and tested in relationship with others.
3. Christian responsibility: Progress through Use. The output of effective discipleship is service and productivity.
DISCIPLER
A disciple is one who actively reproduces in others the pattern of becoming a disciple
2Ti 2:2 And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.

Mover’s Kick-off Party has taken- off full blast last Friday, June 17, 2011. It’s an evangelistic bridge event of First Assembly Roxas Mission Inc., Movers Youth Department in bringing the youth closer to God by exposing them to the Word through creative presentation of dance & music. As planned, the night was filled with music and dancing, stirring excitements to everyone.
Inviting and refreshing snacks were served to share and enjoy while grooving to an upbeat music that filled the air. The party was formally opened by the talented and energetic Extreme Movers Dance Crew that thrilled everyone with their cool moves and choreography followed by a special dance number given by a group named Break a Leg. They showed individuality in their break dancing. Streetsigns rocked the house with their rocking music encouraging young people to join them in singing. It was a great night of remarkable talents dedicated to God.
The highlight of the event was the impressive response of the youth after Pastor Rey Calusay their Senior Pastor delivered the Message with such conviction as Psalm 139 as his text, to the call of living righteous lives, committing to surrender their lives to God, their Maker. Putting stop to sin that brings destruction and living for God rather than self.
The party was punctuated with more dances, great songs, good fellowship and God glorified. It was spectacular.
MOVERS Overnight June 2011
By: Stef Samaco
After what seemed to be an endless wait, summer has finally ended. The youth of FARM gets all excited as another season of Movers opens this school year! Friday, June 11th, as early as 4:30 in the afternoon, the young people of FARM, arrived with their sleepover paraphernalia. Hyped up as usual, everybody started chatting with their friends while munching snacks served at the worship hall.
After praise and worship, groups for this season were identified. We have eleven (11) groups for this season and we also have new Life Coaches (previously called Counselors). The Life Coaches for this season are: Maria Talitha Ambrosio, ,Stefannie Samaco, Hazel Ann Fegarido, Beatriz Bernas, Jonas Lasaleta, Elicel Cabarles, Antonio Doloso, Gale Apaap, Manuel Luna, Mark Bernas and Geraldine Duronio. Groups were then given time to talk and to get to know their new group mates. After which, Session 1 started.
The message was all about Evangelism. Pastor Jireh Calusay (FARM youth pastor) challenged the young people to stand up to God’s call for evangelism in relation to 5K in 5Y. This season, Movers will be all about following and doing God’s work. We will be opening Bible studies in barangays all over the city. Movers, now is the time to Move!
Dinner followed. All were given time to freshen up and prepare for the next session. The 2nd session was a short run-down on the important facts and reminders of what and what not to do during the ‘contact stage’. A short skit was prepared by the Life coaches to show the young people (especially those that haven’t join SOS yet) what usually takes place in a real setting. After the session, the life coaches met with their respective groups to pray for the target place and the groups’ faith goals. That night’s activities ended with great anticipation for the next day … (lights off at ten pm).
Early morning, the next day, everyone woke up to Sir Nonoy’s boom box voice of “Good Morning, Good Morning!”. Eveybody seemed to “sleep walk” to the worship hall for the exercise. To warm-up for that day’s activity, Sir Antonio led the young people to dance exercises such as the “otso kuracha and the grind”. It seemed to work as everybody looked fully awake after the exercises! Devotional then followed which was given by Ptr. Jireh, then breakfast and preparation. Field directives where given before setting out for the target place, and groups were then met by their life coaches for final instructions and prayer.
After an hour of fieldwork, the young people came back with numerous testimonies of that day’s fieldwork. Bible studies opened and excited looks on their faces indicates that they are totally in this mission for the long-haul. The following are the result of that days fieldwork: Contacts: 65 Bible Studies opened: 42

JAM VIDEOS
JAM means `Jesus and Me’ was started by Joses Calusay with a select group of young people with the triple-talent of singing, dancing and acting. Joses Jam team members include Matthew Castillo, Sheila Kris Albaladejo, Jecca BAjande, Chenaniah Garrido, Alyssa Castillo, and Sarah Artates.
JAM presentations are designed to teach Bible truths to children through dance, music and drama combined. Heralding the theme `Jesus, the Greatest Giver’, JAM did a presentation during the last FARM Family convention to the delight of children and adults as well.
The show also became the ocasion to feature two young people that are being discipled as future leaders. Matthew (LJ) Castillo and Chenaniah (Chen) Garrido are both second generation Christians in FARM. Joses Calusay prepared the way for the two to testify, saying that LJ and Chen are just two of the young people that make his decision to turn down a job offer in Singapore and instead be a pastor among the next generation WORTH IT!

The team of leaders under FARM Youth pastors Jireh and Annah Belle Calusay invests time and effort to plan the weekly Friday Movers Night. The meeting last October 8 was very impressive and is hereby reported by a counselor and a young people.
Report by Stef Samaco, Counselor:
It was another great Friday again at FARM. At the welcome lounge, excited young people were in every corner catching up and talking animatedly. A mix of high and low pitched voices could be heard all over the room topped with giggling and flashing lights from the camera. And oh, one could not help but notice the counselors wearing RED – hmm. What do they have in store for the mover’s this time? –
A lot actually. Last Friday (October 8, 2009) was a break from the usual. Instead of hearing the message from the youth pastor, the counselors were given the chance to speak in front for five minutes about the different signs that would take place before Jesus’ second coming. After the counselors , we heard interesting facts from Brother Harald Hesse. Everybody listened as he showed us photos of places and artifacts during Jesus’ time. It’s amazing how these things have lived and endured through times. A proof that Jesus have indeed walked and lived on this earth.
The information may have been too much for the young people to digest for one night but these facts were presented not to scare them but to make them realize that we are now living in the last days. And the only way to feel safe and secure is to have Jesus Christ in our life. It is then that we will be able to live in peace amidst the chaos and wait in great anticipation for His second coming.
Report by Chen Garrido, 14 yrs old Mover:
The October 8th Movers Night was a blast! The Welcome Lounge set up surprised us. The setting was like a party. Songs by Beckah Shae, TobyMac, Britt Nicole, and many more were played by the nights’ make believe DJ Benjie Calusay. The Movers moved ryhtmically as the music pumped all over the room. The food service was another twist from the usual as waiters in uniform moved around with trays of the favorite Movers’ snacks – iced tea and `piyaya’. The atmosphere in the Welcome Lounge was relaxing and so much fun almost everyone didn’t want to get out of the lounge. And someone was celebrating his 19th birthday, Manuling, the FARM band lead guitarist. Happy Birthday to Manuling!
The second part of the night was another big surprise. For the first time, the counselors took turns to teach. They shared different points about the end times. Joshua Ambrosio explained how the Anti-Christ will arise and rule the world. Stef Samaco enumerated natural calamities and famine, Karl Alibuas talked about wars and rumors of wars, and Joses talked about how love for God will grow cold – altogether as signs of the last days. Alecs reviewed what happened to Sodom and Gommorah and Christian Juarez revealed more of Satan’s deceptions. Benjie Calusay fixed the puzzle in the minds of the Movers about the mark of the beast. Juliet Duronio showed a video of actual Christians being persecuted. The series of brief lectures by the counselors was highlighted by the presentation of Brother Harald Hesse, on biblical archeology and prophecy.
Next week will be another surprise for the Movers’ so see you all there!
