MOVERS PROM NIGHT 2012

The Movers Hold Real Love Is Hard Love Grand Prom Night
By: Dra. Jedidiah Ricaforte-Diente

The soft gentle music echoes through the air and the red carpet was laid down on the floor for the much awaited Movers’ Prom Valentine’s Presentation,” Real Love Is Hard Love”. The Movers, paved the way for an evening of fun and music last February 23, 2012 in the ambiance where love is popularly known – Paris! The venue, FARM church, was dominated with low-key lighting of sweet scented candles on each table and dressed with baby blue draping.  It was a night indeed for the glamorous ladies with their coiffured hair and dressed in their gorgeous long gowns with their escorts in tuxedoes.

Everyone was greeted by the young band trainees as they entered the hall and took pictures for their souvenir. The Prom started with the Processional where the Movers, Senior Pastor Rey and Zeny Calusay, Berean students and guests made a graceful entree on the red carpet to the Eiffel Tower painted arch before gazing upon their seats. It was followed by candle lighting and a Prayer song “On My Knees” sang by Mae then “Steady My Heart” by Tata. Pastor Jireh Calusay warmly welcomed everyone afterwards. It was then a string of endless music for everyone as the songs Hold Me, Love Song and You Are For Me enthralled the audience before Pastor Rey delivered a dynamic and enlightening message about Real Love is Hard Love taken from Ephesians 5:22-33. Pastor Rey introduced God’s love and how we should build strong kind of love. He also elaborated about why love must be tough and that we should not experiment on it. It was encouraging to see the youth affirmatively respond to God’s advice and accept Christ’s love for them while the song I Promise is being sang. If heaven rejoices to see one soul saved, what more when they see a bountiful youth approaching God and asking Him to lead their lives? Praise God for  that!

Dinner is then served while the FARM band  played and sang Beauty’s Just A Word, Hope Now, I Wanna Know You, Unfailing Love and Pag-ibig.But it was far from over as the awards were given after the search. Bruce Bulacan and Jamaica Abad was hailed as Mr. and Ms. Heartstrings, respectively. Mr. and Ms. Soul Surrendered was garnered by Mark Darren Acuyong and Chenee Shamma Remon. As for the most desired award, Prom King was Robbie del Rosario and prom Queen was Lorna Marie Lim. Noteworthy also was the presence of some SK officials as special guests.
This momentous event was made into reality by God’s grace and by the cooperation of the Church Committees, HRM of Life Goal International, the Band and SK officials. The prom was also sponsored by Avon Plaridel Branch, Coca-Cola Bottlers Inc. Roxas City Branch, Gigz Store and friends both local and abroad. It was open for all youths.
