OJT OF ATTENDEES OF CHURCH PLANTERS MODULE FRUITFUL

During the Church Planters Training Module last January 17-22, the participants  went out last January 20, 2012 for their practicum in getting contacts. They knocked on doors in the community at Mckinley Street, Roxas City. Rowena Javier (BSM student) with partner Rev. Marietta Sarmiento (a pastor from CLDC) had a good contact in the person of Mrs. Edisel Lumanyao. After a follow up Bible study, Edisel started to attend church at FARM,Inc. The picture below, taken February 12, 2012 – shows Edisel with Rowena and  BS host Mrs.  Cecilia Cabarles at the FARM Welcome Lunch.  Rowena testifies that Edisel’s husband has also committed to attend Bible Study.

PRACTICUM IN MCKINLEY BY CHURCH PLANTING MODULE PARTICIPANTS

After four days of classroom sessions, the participants in the Church Planting Module had fieldwork in Mackinley, Roxas City. After a couple of hours of knocking on doors in the community, the group had 44 good contacts and had 17 Bible study appointments. They also had the hands on experience of filling up the IPR form (Individual Progress Report form) to document the results of their fieldwork. They were then served dinner by the Cabarles family who will later serve as the host for the House church that is hoped to be formed in the Mckinley community as a result of the said practicum.

A HUNDRED AND FOUR BSM ALUMNI GATHER @ FARM

The FARM,Inc. building was literally occupied by the hundred and four  BSM alumni last September 20-22, 2011. Representatives from each of  the twenty batches  of students since 1987 were overjoyed to meet each other again. The ground floor was both welcome/coffee area and session area. A photo shoot area was also prepared which became the busiest  area as the alumni took turns to have their pictures taken. The ground floor function room, the Quiver classroom at the second floor served as accomodation for the attending alumni. The third floor from the BSM dining area to the Calusay Residence foyer, and the Sunday Chuch School classrooms at the rooftop served as dining areas. Except for the BSM students the last two  scholyears, many of these alumni did not enjoy   the    current facilities at FARM.
The FARM team, eager to welcome  back the alumni personally prepared the venue for the affair. The present batch of BSM students likewise offered their services  as food service crew. The whole affair was like a big BSM family affair for three days.
The goals of the event- `to revisit, to receive and to restart’  were successfuly achieved through the program activities prepared by Pastor Rey and Mrs. Calusay, the main BSM mentors. Consequently, a BSM Alumni groups was created to get the BSM alumni regulalry connected with each other form this time onward. Click this to go to BSM Alumni FB Group.
